Stewart’s Shops Wins Best Milk in New York State for Third Straight Year

Convenience-store chain also won first place for best chocolate milk, flavored milk and vanilla ice cream

For the third consecutive year, Stewart’s Shops holds the honor of having the best milk in New York State.

This award is one of several for the Ballston Spa, New York-based convenience-store chain announced at the 2024 New York State Fair in Syracuse, which ran from Aug. 21 to Sept. 2. Stewart’s Shops also won first place for best chocolate milk and best flavored milk.

Stewart’s Shops also won first place for best vanilla ice cream for its Philly Vanilla, “a fan favorite that is chock full of tasty Madagascar vanilla beans,” said the company, which just rolled out several fall flavorsIn the chocolate ice cream category, Stewart’s Shops took second place.

The New York State 2024 Dairy Products contest is part of a highly competitive program run by Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and the New York State Department of Agriculture, Stewart’s Shops said. This year, there were 176 entries from dairy producers across the state.

  • Stewart’s Shops is No. 23 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.

The program highlights New York’s dairy industry and ensures the quality of New York dairy products while monitoring milk, cheese and other products for quality and safety, said Stewart’s Shops, adding, “The best milk awards are a testament to the hard work and high standards of the 20 local dairy farms who supply Stewart’s with raw milk every day.”

“This recognition is humbling. It also is an opportunity to recognize the dedication of the farmers who support us and our partners who work so hard to ensure our milk and ice cream are the best they can be,” Chad Kiesow, chief operating officer at Stewart’s Shops, said.

Blood Drive

Stewart’s Shops is giving a free pint of pre-packaged ice cream or gelato to all blood donors throughout September. The September Give a Pint, Get a Pint campaign is open at participating Adirondack Regional Blood Center locations throughout Essex, Clinton, Franklin and St. Lawrence counties. Each donor will receive a certificate for a free pint of Stewart’s pre-packaged ice cream or gelato. Learn more here.
