Eby-Brown Hires Food Network Show Finalist

NAPERVILLE, Ill. Eby-Brown has welcomed Paul Young to its team of corporate chefs.

Trained at Paris-based Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy, and a featured finalist on the sixth season of the Food Network show “The Next Food Network Star,”Young brings culinary expertise and more than 20 years of foodservice experience.

He has worked on teams at Reinhart Foodservice, Chicago, and Kilcoy Global Foods, Mundelein, Ill., as well as other culinary positions with highly rated Chicago-area restaurants.

“The addition of culinary experts like Paul Young to the Eby team only further demonstrates our commitment to the highest quality foodservice solutions for our c-store customers,” said Tom Wake, company president.

Young, who hosted the show “Stove Tots” on FYI network and is published in a Food Network cookbook, more recently served as an area manager with Richmond, Va.-based Performance Food Group, which acquired Eby-Brown Co. in 2019, working with customers and vendors to develop new menus, sample new products and bring innovative items to local markets.

Young’s experience in foodservice R&D, coupled with his dedication to teaching and demonstrating food service solutions, will help Eby-Brown as he works to develop appetizing menu options for convenience partners throughout the market, the company said.
