A new partnership Sheetz Inc., Altoona, Pennsylvania, and AllCampus, Chicago, will provide the convenience-store retailer’s employees access to tuition-free degree and certificate programs from AllCampus’ network of university partners.

Through the agreement, the mid-Atlantic retailer’s 26,000 employees looking to further their education will be connected to more than 500 low- to tuition-free degree and certificate programs from AllCampus.

“We are excited to embark on this partnership with AllCampus,” said Sheetz Executive Vice President of People and Culture Stephanie Doliveira. “Their dedication to making higher education more affordable and accessible aligns seamlessly with our commitment to fostering growth and development within our organization.”

The new partnership also offers guidance for Sheetz employees when it comes to school, program and degree selection as well as enrollment guidance and consultative support.

“By partnering with AllCampus, Sheetz ensures that each team member can pursue a cost-effective path to higher education without incurring massive amounts of student loan debt,” AllCampus said.

With over 90% of promotions stemming from internal talent, Sheetz said this partnership reflects its ongoing commitment to internal mobility and employee development and growth through education.

“With AllCampus by our side, we eagerly anticipate providing our team with invaluable access to their education benefits and empowering them to pursue their educational aspirations and further their professional growth,” Doliveira said.

Jeremy Walsh, executive vice president of AllCampus’ workplace division, said that Sheetz’s “commitment to investing in employees’ growth aligns perfectly with our mission to expand access to higher education and professional development.”

Other convenience-store retailers are also forming partnerships that offer educational opportunities for their employees.

In June, Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, Oklahoma City, announced a partnership with Guild, a Denver-based company-funded tuition assistance program.

  • Sheetz is No. 13 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count. Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores is No. 16.
