Black Buffalo has revealed its 2025 Herd Preferred Award recipients, including multiple convenience stores.

The Chicago-based smokeless tobacco company said it recognizes its top-performing retail partners across the United States based on objective performance metrics, including total can volume and cans per week (CPW), as measured through shipment data provided by Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSAi), Pittsburgh.

  • Jackson BevCo, Boise, Idaho
  • Smokin' Joe’s, Davenport, Iowa
  • Puff Tobacco Products, Mill Hall, Pennsylvania
  • Discount Tobacco Outlet, Shelbyville, Tennessee

"Comfort doesn't drive growth—evolution does," said Matthew Spillane, vice president of sales.

Spillane said these retailers embrace where the backbar is going, not where it's been.

“They've earned the respect of our team—and more importantly, the loyalty of our adult consumers, which we affectionately call The Herd,” Spillane said. “On average, a member of The Herd drives almost 13 miles to reach a store carrying Black Buffalo, showing just how critical our retail partners are in connecting the Black Buffalo brand with adult consumers.”
