Buc-ee’s Ltd. will break ground on a new travel center in Huber Heights, Ohio, on Aug. 8, its first location in the Buckeye State.

The stores tentative opening date is June 2, 2025, according to a report by Savannah Now.

At 8000 State Highway 235, Buc-ee’s Huber Heights will occupy 74,000 square feet and offer 100 fueling positions and 24 EV charging stations. Buc-ee’s signature offerings, including barbeque, fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries will all be available, as well as apparel featuring mascot Bucky the Beaver.

  • Buc-ee’s is No. 116 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.

Along with the snacks, beverages and meal options, the chain is known for its clean restrooms.

Attendees of the Buc-ee’s Huber Heights groundbreaking ceremony will include state and local leaders, including Huber Heights Mayor Jeff Gore.

“Huber Heights is the perfect spot for our first Ohio store,” said Stan Beard, Buc-ee’s director of real estate and development. “It's a beautiful stretch of I-70 between Columbus and Indianapolis, and we are excited to be a part of this community.”

Throughout the project, Buc-ee’s corporate development team will continue to work closely with local partners. Buc-ee’s Huber Heights will bring at least 200 full-time jobs to the area, with starting pay beginning above minimum wage, full benefits, a 6% matching 401k and three weeks of paid vacation, the company said.

In other Buc-ee's news, the company's third location in Georgia, in Brunswick, is also slated to open in June 2025, according to a report by WSB Radio.

Since beginning its multi-state expansion in 2019, Buc-ee’s has opened travel centers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee and Colorado. It just opened a store in Luling, Texas, on Jume 10 and its second store in Kentucky, in Smiths Grove, on June 24. Buc-ee’s also broke ground on the first Virginia and Mississippi locations earlier this year.

Founded in 1982, Lake Jackson, Texas-based Buc-ee’s has 50 stores.
