Pittsburgh-based supermarket chain Giant Eagle and its convenience division GetGo are working with tech firm Grabango for its frictionless checkout solution.

Grabango distinguishes itself from other frictionless concepts by offering a customizable experience. Consumers shopping in a space using Grabango equipment do not have to pass through a turnstile when they enter or be part of a membership program. They simply enter the store and shop normally. Once they are ready to pay, consumers can pay with cash, card, an app or “just walk out,” as customers do at Amazon Go, if they are signed up with Grabango and have provided a payment method.
