Fleming Signs With McLane

Three-year service agreement to help drive growth

TEMPLE, Texas -- McLane Co. Inc. has entered into a three-year service agreement with Fleming Corp. of Kansas. Fleming, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Kan., operates numerous fuel and convenience stores throughout the state.

"McLane is fully prepared and anxious to support Fleming's ambitious business plan for its operations throughout the State of Kansas," said Jon Hanson, vice president of sales for McLane's Western and Minnesota divisions.

Currently, Fleming is focusing on organic growth through acquisitions and improved [image-nocss] customer satisfaction and it believes McLane will help the company accomplish its goals.

Ed Roitz, president of Fleming Corp., said, "The agreement with McLane provides us with a great foundation for growth and an opportunity to increase consumer loyalty by supplying us with high-quality products and services to better meet our customers needs."

McLane Co. provides distribution services throughout the United States, delivering food and non-food products to more than 50,000 customer locations, including the convenience store, drug store, mass merchandise, quick service restaurant and movie theater industries. Headquartered in Temple, Texas, the company operates 19 grocery distribution divisions and 18 foodservice distribution centers as well as an industry specific software company.
