There’s a general feeling of positivity among convenience-store retailers, whose expectations in foodservice are overwhelmingly upbeat; 87% think sales will improve in the next year compared to last year—up from 73% in last year’s survey.

Meanwhile, foodservice sales in 2023 did well: 35% said they were up significantly from the prior year, down from 2022’s 48%.

In dispensed beverages, retailers regard dispensed, premade specialty coffee drinks as having the most growth potential, at 62%. Hot tea again finished in last place.
