UPDATE: CEFCO Partners With Huddle House

Adding more full-service restaurants; opens sixth new-design prototype

UPDATE:Officials from CEFCO tell CSP Daily News that at this time, CEFCO has agreed only to build two sites with Huddle House restaurants. "Anything beyond that is only speculation on the part of Huddle House."

In other company news, CEFCO has opened a new store in Lott, Texas, its sixth prototype store reflecting CEFCO organization's latest design, which incorporates a number of enhancements made possible by an open, fresh design with modern treatments and upgraded finishes. This new store is part of CEFCO's stated growth strategy of adding up to eight locations this year in addition to the 128 Food Fast and Taylor stores acquired since August 2011.

TEMPLE, Texas -- Convenience store retailer CEFCO will add more than 100 Huddle House locations to its stores in the next five years.

Huddle House, a 400-plus unit full-service family restaurant chain, signed a multi-unit franchise agreement with CEFCO, adding to the brand’s aggressive expansion efforts.

CEFCO, a 254-unit convenience store company, will bolster the Huddle House growth plan to add more than 100 locations. The CEFCO signing guarantees units in Mt. Vernon and Jarrell, Texas, which are scheduled to open in the spring of 2013.

“CEFCO has a long history of taking care of our customers with outstanding service, clean facilities, best-in-class restrooms, great products and a commitment to the communities we serve,” said Brett Giesick, chief retail officer of CEFCO. “We are just as committed toward providing these same levels of execution to our Huddle House guests.”

The joint venture appeals to today’s consumer because it provides the advantage of two popular and quality services in one convenient location, according to the companies.

“Expanding our restaurants into non-traditional locations supports our growth strategy, which targets unique real-estate opportunities, such as convenience stores, truck stops and travel centers to expand our customer base” said CEO Michael Abt. “We are pleased to announce the signing of these initial two locations as it will further the brand’s growing presence and awareness throughout the state of Texas.”

Temple, Texas-based CEFCO currently operates in Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
