SPRINGDALE, Ark. —Tyson Foods has introduced its new Air Fried Chicken at retailers nationwide.

The frozen white-meat chicken contains 75% less fat than traditional fried and boneless chicken and comes in three varieties: Air Fried Chicken Breast Strips, Air Fried Chicken Breast Fillets and Air Fried Chicken Nuggets, all of which are free of antibiotics.

Air frying works by circulating hot air around food at high speeds and cooking the food to a crisp. It requires less oil than traditional frying.

"The first of its kind, fully cooked Tyson Air Fried Chicken was created with both taste and convenience in mind," said Colleen Hall, director of marketing for Tyson. "We air fry it for you, so just heat it in the oven for an easy dinner or snack the whole family can enjoy."

To celebrate the launch, Tyson is offering consumers free Air Plates, which are plates that use magnetic levitation to stabilize a floating plate above a base. Consumers have until Nov. 7 to enter for a chance to win an Air Plate, which also comes with Tyson Air Fried Chicken Breast Strips, a napkin and a ramekin to hold dipping sauces. Entrants must tweet at the Tyson brand and comment on how the dining kit will elevate their next meal.

Springdale, Ark.-based Tyson Foods produces, markets and exports chicken, beef and pork. Its brands include Hillshire Farm, Jimmy Dean, Ball Park, Wright, Aidells and State Fair. The company was founded in 1935.
