Nice N Easy Announces Foodservice Promotions

Cushman, White responsible for Easy Street Eateries

CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes Inc. announced at its most recent executive committee meeting the promotions of its two senior foodservice staff members.

Dr. Jack Cushman was named executive vice president of foodservice. Cushman has worked for Nice N Easy for seven years and has overseen the development of the company's full-line proprietary foodservice program, Easy Street Eatery. Before joining Nice N Easy, Cushman was senior area manager and franchise area consultant for Domino's Pizza. He has a PhD in hotel, restaurant, and institutional [image-nocss] management and dietetics from Kansas State University.

Jack has taken our foodservice program to a whole new level, said John MacDougall, president of Canastota, N.Y.-based Nice N Easy. We believe we not only operate one of the best food programs in the c-store industry, but also that we can take on most fast feeders of any type that exist in our markets. As a franchisor, Nice N Easy believes that Jack Cushman is capable of taking Easy Street Eatery to the industry as a franchise foodservice program developed by a c-store company to exist harmoniously in a c-store.

Also promoted was Glenn White. White's new title is senior director of foodservice. He has worked for Nice N Easy for 12 years and is credited for creating Nice N Easy's food program. His prime focus is the field management of the company's Easy Street Eateries.

Nice N Easy would not be where it is today as a foodservice company if Glenn White did not lay the groundwork in terms of menu, equipment, training, attracting good people and, most importantly, establishing food safety as a prime concern for all of us, MacDougall said.

Before joining Nice N Easy, White worked for Carroll's Corp. (Burger King) in many management capacities including area manager for 24 years.

Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes is a leading convenience store chain operating more than 80 stores throughout the state of New York.
