Maverik and the convenience-store chain it bought last year, Kum & Go, are rolling out summer promotions that include the return of Maverik’s smoked meats, stuffed cookies and more. This will be the first time both brands will offer consistent summer offerings across their combined 20-state footprint, Salt Lake City-based Maverik said.

  • Maverik is No. 12 on CSP’s 2024 Top 40 Update to the 2023 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by store count. Watch for the full 2024 Top 202 ranking in the June issue of CSP magazine and in CSP Daily News.

Following the success of its smoked meats program last year, Maverik again will introduce its smoked brisket breakfast and lunch offerings, which will be available in both Maverik and Des Moines, Iowa-based Kum & Go locations through the summer.

Maverik-only locations will feature a Two-Meat and Mac Bowl (pictured), a Pepper Jack Mac, Smoked Brisket, Smoked Pork and a Green Chile Smoked Pork Burrito. Meanwhile, Kum & Go locations will feature Brisket Burritos and a Pulled Pork Sandwich.

Maverik and Kum & Go rewards members can redeem additional summer savings with the 89-cent Fountain Frenzy through Oct. 1. The deal will be available for up to a large fountain drink for Maverik Adventure Club and Kum & Go &Rewards members.

Desserts

In the dessert department, Maverik and Kum & Go now have the same offerings, including cake doughnuts, bars, fritters and more.

“Staples include the chocolate and maple bar, and triangle-glazed donuts,” Maverik said. “Available for a limited time, doughnut lovers can also enjoy the s’mores doughnut, which will be available from July 3 through Oct. 1.”

Oversized cookies also are now available. Standard flavor offerings include Macachocacoconut (macadamia nut, chocolate chip, and coconut), peanut butter cup, chocolate chip and more. The s’mores stuffed cookie will return from July 3 through Oct. 1.

‘Easier Checkout’

“For even easier checkout at Maverik locations, the c-store just debuted Nitro Mobile Pay,” Maverik said. “With this new feature, Maverik’s Adventure Club’s upgraded Nitro Card members can scan and pay while receiving Nitro level benefits using a QR code in store and an authorization code at the pump, versus having to carry and swipe a physical Nitro card.”

Customers can use this feature in the store or at the pump using the “Pay” feature in the app.

“This new feature complements Maverik’s self-checkout and even further enhances the Maverik customer experience by enabling a seamless transaction to get guests back on the adventure faster,” Maverik said.

The two brands serve customers in more than 800 locations across 20 states.
