Advantage Sales & Marketing to Represent Tyson

Will cover convenience channel for major foodservice company

IRVINE, Calif. -- Effective July 1, 2006, Advantage Sales & Marketing LLC (ASM) has been appointed by Tyson Foods Inc. to represent it in the convenience store class of trade nationally excluding Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Minnesota, Virginia and Kentucky.

I will be working closely with Tyson to gain representation in all states as we show them our ability to drive their c-store business, said Nick T. Mihnovets, senior manager of strategic business development for ASM. I believe Tyson will be a key partner that will position [image-nocss] ASM to strategically grow our foodservice business. I am excited about this opportunity to work with a partner that dominates every class of trade they focus on.

Tyson has developed a c-store division charged with building their business in that channel by focused programs, identifying c-store items within their current portfolio and developing new c-store products. I am currently working with Tyson and their consultant Retail Forward to develop their c-store platform. We hope to provide further details in the upcoming weeks, added Mihnovets.

Tyson Foods is the world's largest marketer and producer of chicken, beef and pork products. The Springdale, Ark.-based company produces a variety of protein-based and prepared food products for customers in more than 80 countries.

Irvine, Calif.-based ASM is an agency specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods.
