Core-Mark is one of the largest wholesale distributors to the convenience channel in North America with approximately $17 billion in net sales and 32 distribution centers servicing approximately 40,000 retailer locations in all 50 states and seven Canadian provinces and territories.

Performance Food Group closed on its purchase of Core-Mark in September. The expanded convenience business will operate under the Core-Mark brand and will continue to be based in Westlake, Texas. Scott McPherson will continue in his role as president and CEO of Core-Mark.

Last fall, Core-Mark enhanced its SmartStock program for category management, inventory control and merchandising.

In April, Core-Mark unveiled its revamped Core Partners program, which offers customers access to suppliers within service-level categories, including ambient fixtures, cleaning and safety supplies, refrigerated coolers, foodservice equipment, frictionless payment point-of-sale (POS) registers, safes and ATMs, software, signage and telecommunications, among other categories.

Core-Mark also made its free Track My Order delivery management tool available to all retail customers, the company announced in May. Introduced in 2020 in select divisions, the application enables retailers to receive real-time updates on delivery status by email or text.

In 2020, Core-Mark opened its Center of Excellence (COE), a collaboration space for retailers, vendors, industry experts and strategists, delivering an immersive experience with high-speed videoconferencing and data analytics services designed to reveal real-time insights into c-store trends and opportunities.
