TravelCenters of America, Westlake, Ohio, is the fifth best mega workplace in Northeast Ohio, according to cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer. This is the second consecutive year that TA has made the list.

“Receiving this recognition for a second year in a row is incredibly exciting and speaks volumes to the culture that we have created together,” said Jon Pertchik, CEO of TA. “It is humbling to know this recognition is due to our team members’ feedback and we will continue working hard to ensure everyone feels valued, appreciated and fulfilled at TA.”

  • TravelCenters of America is No. 29 on CSP’s 2023 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by company-owned store count.

The newspaper ranked 214 companies, nonprofits, schools and organizations in categories including small (149 employees and fewer), mid-size (150-499 employees), large workplaces (500-999 employees) and mega workplaces (1,000 or more employees)—a new category this year.

These employers, with offices in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne counties, ranked best in employee surveys from employee engagement expert Energage. Companies across the region were invited to have their employees take the third-party confidential survey. The survey measured 15 culture drivers including alignment, execution and connection. Any organization could participate, provided it had at least 35 employees in the region. Employers could be public, private, nonprofit or governmental.

TravelCenters of America, acquired by bp in May, is a nationwide operator and franchisor of the TA, Petro Stopping Centers and TA Express travel center brands.
