GetGo Café + Market opened its first new-build Pennsylvania location with a drive-thru window on Leap Day. The 3,300-square-foot convenience store is in Butler, which is part of the greater Pittsburgh region.
“We’re eager to join this community, and this grand opening event is our chance to present them with the best GetGo has to offer,” said Brandon Daniels, public relations manager for supermarket and convenience-store company Giant Eagle Inc.
The store held its grand opening with a Leap Day theme, which included a giant sub-cutting ceremony (GetGo’s twist on a ribbon-cutting ceremony). Festivities included live music, giveaways, raffle drawings, food and beverage samples and celebrity appearances.
Pittsburgh Penguins alumnus Tyler Kennedy was the celebrity guest team member on drive-thru duty, helping to fulfill orders on Thursday. The store, which will employ 28 team members, will be open 24 hours a day.
