NEW YORK -- Ten of the 100 most valuable brands in the world are beverage brands.
Three technology companies top the list: Apple (1), Google (2) and Microsoft (3). But mixed in with such everyday names as Facebook, Sony, Starbucks and even Lego are three beer brands, three spirits, one wine company and three carbonated soft drinks (CSDs), according to a new rating issued by 24/7 Wall St., a financial news organization based in New York.
The brand valuations are based on three factors: how well a brand is known, how well it is regarded and how much it contributes to its parent company’s financial success. The majority of the 100 brands are household names in America, the report says, though only four of the beverage brands on the list call the United States home.
