EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The latest packaged cannabidiol (CBD) beverage to come to market comes from a surprising celebrity businessman with an unexpected sense of humor. Boxer Mike Tyson's Ranch Cos. on Aug. 8 launched a new line of CBD-enhanced beverages known as Dwiink.

Dwiink beverages, named with Tyson's childlike voice in mind, are infused with 10 milligrams of CBD and available in four flavors: Original (unflavored), Pineapple Orange, Watermelon and Mixed Berry. Dwiink will be initially available at convenience stores in Los Angeles.

"Dwiink has been in development for the past 18 months, and it has been well worth the wait," said Dwiink President Steven Krane.

Tyson has been outspoken about the quality of the cannabis he puts his name on. Since he founded the Ranch Cos., he has insisted on a strict standard of excellence, according to the company.

While positioned as a premium CBD-infused beverage, Dwiink is priced at $3.99 for a 16.9-ounce bottle to encourage mass distribution at retail, the company said.

Dwiink’s launch comes amid a spike in interest in functional CBD-infused beverages. According to a February Cowen Research report, the CBD beverage category is expected to grow to a $900 million opportunity within two years. And, of consumers surveyed, 20% of CBD users consume enhanced beverages.

"Dwiink is an exciting new addition to the Ranch's growing portfolio of branded products," said Rob Hickman, who co-founded El Segundo, Calif.-based Ranch Cos. with Tyson. "We expect it to be the dominant CBD beverage as a result of its incredible quality and affordable pricing."
