Although the point of a convenience store is to be as many things to as many people as possible, it’s a fact that some stores do some things better than others. And some stores do that thing better than all the others. So, as we’ve seen, 7-Eleven is known for icy, fruity drinks, while QuickChek and Wawa are celebrated for sandwiches, ampm for hot dogs and other roller grill items, and Casey’s for pizza.
Casey’s pizza is so beloved that more than 60% of respondents to a Technomic poll mentioned its craveable pizza. That craveable item is what customers are looking for, said Brad Haga, Casey’s senior vice president of prepared food and dispensed beverages, not who has the best overall convenience store.
“Lots of people sell pizza,” Haga said. “We want to do it great. Our breakfast pizza is the first thing people are thinking about on Saturday morning.
