LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Chewing-tobacco customers could be awash in their favorite product as National Tobacco Co. launches a “World’s Largest Tub Tour” through states in the Midwest, South and Southeast, the company said.
Sitting on the back of pickup trucks, three 6-foot-high Stoker’s-branded tubs filled with moist snuff will make 50 stops in multiple cities. Consumers can enter a sweepstakes by guessing how many cans will fill a tub, the company said. Five grand-prize winners will receive all-expenses-paid trips to Nashville for a music festival.
The sweepstakes started this month and will run until Oct. 3, the company said.
The trucks will visit cities in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia.
Fred Stoker founded the Stoker’s chewing-tobacco brand in 1940 in Dresden, Tenn. Stoker’s offers traditional chewing tobacco and moist snuff in a variety of flavors and sizes, including a 1.2-ounce can and a tub that holds 10 cans. National Tobacco Co. is a subsidiary of Turning Point Brands Inc. Both companies are based in Louisville, Ky.
