Walmart Brings Back 'Great Gas Rollback'

Customers can save up to 15 cents per gallon

BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Walmart is bringing back its Great Gas Rollback program beginning April 1. Walmart customers using a Walmart gift card will receive a 10-cents-per-gallon discount; customers who use a Walmart MoneyCard or Walmart Credit Card will save 15 cents per gallon on their fuel purchase.

More than 1,000 Murphy USA and Walmart gas stations located at Walmart stores in 21 participating states will offer the discounts.

"As I travel to stores across the country, I am constantly hearing that gas prices are making it tough for our customers to balance their budgets. For every cent gas prices climb, consumers have $1 billion less to spend," said Gisel Ruiz, COO for Walmart U.S. "Over the past two years, our Great Gas Rollback has saved customers more than $100 million. This year, we're bringing it back to help families as they hit the road to visit relatives, go on vacation, celebrate the summer holidays and every shopping trip in between."

Walmart's Great Gas Rollback will run through July 7 and will be available in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. The Great Gas Rollback differs slightly in Alabama and Florida due to state regulations.

Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has approximately 10,700 stores under 69 banners in 27 countries and e-commerce websites in 10 countries. With fiscal year 2012 sales of approximately $444 billion, Walmart employs more than 2.2 million associates worldwide.
