Town Pump Picks Pinnacle Palm POS

Montana retailer upgrades technology

BUTTE, Mont. -- Town Pump Inc. has selected Pinnacle's Palm POS as its go-forward point-of-sale (POS) platform for its chain of 81 convenience stores and travel centers.

The retailer said it chose Pinnacle's Palm POS system for its productivity benefits, integration with current backoffice applications and the tech firm's Symphony.pos manager that delivers centralized management and control of remote Palm POS systems.

The Palm POS system provides us the platform for driving our many customer-oriented initiatives, along with giving [image-nocss] us the opportunity to reduce the costs of doing business," said Kevin Kenneally, vice president of technology for Butte, Mont.-based Town Pump.

Palm POS offers advanced scanning and an intuitive touchscreen cashier interface. It is hardware flexible, and works with a variety of scanners, printers, pole displays, security cameras, lottery, money order, kitchen video, price signs, car washes and more. Nationwide, it is used to process more than $10 billion in total c-store sales and is certified on more than 10 different credit payment networks, the company said. With an open architecture, it provides comprehensive management, operational and retail reporting across the enterprise.

Palm POS also supports Pinnacle's Loyalink, a real-time, non-invasive customer loyalty management solution that allows Palm POS clients to efficiently drive a variety of responsive consumer marketing and promotional programs.

Town Pump has been a family-owned and operated business since 1953. It is in the business of convenience retailing, car washes, Montana-style gaming and distribution of petroleum and propane.

Arlington, Texas-based Pinnacle serves the automation technology industry focusing on the c-store and petroleum industries. It delivers products that automate c-store operations and supply chain management of fuel operations.
