TA's Got Talent

Travel center retailer implementing JobApp's talent acquisition platform
WESTLAKE, Ohio -- TravelCenters of America (TA), the operator of industry leading national travel center brands, TA and Petro, implemented JobApp's talent acquisition platform in 2008. Their goal was to improve hiring results across their 200 locations, reduce turnover and improve customer service.

Committed to a safe and drug-free workplace, TA also implemented JobApp's one-click integrated background screening solution. To slash administrative costs, JobApp has also integrated with TA's implementation of PeopleSoft to streamline HR and payroll processes and eliminate duplicate [image-nocss] data entry.

"After merely 6 months of utilizing JobApp across 20% of our largest locations nationally, we were able to statistically confirm that the JobApp process reduced 21-day termination ratios by over 40%. For our leadership team, it was pretty clear that the JobApp process was in fact significantly reducing what I would call hiring issues," said TA vice president of human resources Bruce Sebera.

JobApp's solution was built specifically for the radically different needs of decentralized and often predominantly hourly or field-based hiring organizations, the firm said.

According to Tom Maren, director of recruiting, "JobApp has transformed our hiring culture, we have been able to better control the hiring process across the country and improve new employee performance and retention."

Troy, Mich.-based JobApp said it helps companies to source and screen prospective employees, streamlining the hiring process, improving the quality of hire and reducing turnover, while simplifying the onboarding process. JobApp's talent acquisition and services platform includes integrated background checks, employee tax credit screening and processing, electronic I-9 and E-Verify compliance and electronic forms management.
