Sheetz Carrier Wins Trucking Safety Honor

CLI Transport receives ATA President's Trophy

ALTOONA, Pa. -- CLI Transport LP, the dedicated carrier for Sheetz Inc. for fuel and grocery, has been honored with the 2008 American Trucking Association (ATA) President's Trophy. This is the highest safety award available to U.S. motor carriers. The Safety & Loss Prevention Management Council only presents three of these awards each year, one in each of three categories: under 25 million miles, 25 to 100 million miles and more than 100 million miles.

The purpose of the ATA President's Trophy is to recognize motor carriers that have the most comprehensive safety programs. CLI Transport [image-nocss] took the honor in the under 25 million miles category.

"Safety is the top priority of every driver at CLI," said Buddy Casado, president of CLI Transport. "To receive this highest of honors is a wonderful achievement for our entire team."

The winners were announced Friday in Nashville, Tenn., at the ATA Safety & Loss Prevention Management Council's National Conference.

CLI has more than 300 drivers that distribute petroleum and food products every day to 350 Sheetz locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.

Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz, a family-owned and -operated convenience store chain with more than $3.9 billion in revenue for 2007 and more than 11,000 employees, has more than 340 convenience locations. All Sheetz convenience stores are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
