LISLE, Ill. -- Royal Buying Group Inc. (RBG) has named the recipients of the 2010 Royal Buying Group education scholarships. The $1,000 scholarships were announced at the 2011 RBG Annual Programs Kick-Off Reception held earlier this year. The scholarship funds were generated from the Independent C-Store Networking Event & Golf Outing held by RBG at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club on September 9, 2010.
The first recipient, Chelsea Fletcher, just graduated from Columbia High School and is enrolled to attend Florida Gateway College in August. She plans on majoring in Veterinarian [image-nocss] Medicine and minoring in Marine Biology. Her mother, Tammy Fletcher, works for Scaffs Inc. dba S & S Food Stores in Lake City, Fla. S & S Food Stores has been part of RBG since 2010.
The second recipient, Stevie Durocher, is currently enrolled at Lyndon Institute and will be attending Middlebury College next winter, where she intends on studying biology and dance. Her mother, Rosemary Durocher, works for Fordham's Mobil Mart Inc. located in Lyndonville, Vt. Fordham's Mobil Mart has been a part of RBG since 2010.
The RBG Scholarship Program is open to eligible candidates that are high school seniors, or graduates who plan to or are enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college or university in the United States that will lead to an academic degree. Eligible candidates include RBG members or their children. The 2011 RBG education scholarship program enrollment will open for applicants October 1, 2011.
RBG, headquartered in Lisle, Ill., is a national organization dedicated to maximizing sales and profitability of convenience stores, petroleum locations, college book stores, truckstops/travel plaza centers, auto repair facilities, drug stores, tobacco outlets, and liquor stores.
