Ricker (pictured), who heads the 700-employee, 49-store convenience chain known for its "Ricker Pop" fountain drinks and other amenities, will pass out hot dogs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 [image-nocss] p.m. at the upcoming event, said the report.
Store officials said the location raised more than $12,000 for the Salvation Army in 2009 during the Red Kettle campaign.
Ricker Oil acquired 32 of BP's company-operated and supplied c-stores in the greater Indianapolis area in late September 2008.
Last October, Ricker was named the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) 2009-2010 chairman. He most recently served as the NACS treasurer and was responsible for overseeing the association's financial plan. A member of the NACS board since 2000, Ricker previously served two terms as NACS vice chairman of convention and events and two terms as NACS vice chairman of industry relations. He also is a member of the NACS Government Relations Board Committee and the NACS Supplier Board, and a member of the NACS/Coca-Cola Retailing Research Council.
In addition to his service with NACS, Ricker is past chair of the BP Amoco Marketers Association, past president of the Indiana Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association and a current member of the Marathon Jobber Advisory Council, NACS said.
