Approved upgrade path from Gilbarco's G-SITE POS

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Shell Oil Products US have announced the availability of the Passport Point of Sale System for Shell-branded retail fuel outlets.

Passport is a touchscreen POS system built with modular software and standard POS hardware. It is the approved upgrade path from Gilbarco's G-SITE POS.

Other retailers also enjoy the extensive merchandising and loyalty engine inherent in Passport, according to Kirsten Paust, Gilbarco Veeder-Root's POS marketing manager. Our customers like the ability to run [image-nocss] integrated quick-service restaurants seamlessly, drive promotions and implement loyalty programs.

New West Petroleum, a direct open retailer for Shell based in Sacramento, Calif., is seeing real returns with the upgrade of its G-SITE locations to Passport, according to Chris Moore, New West's vice president of retail/ G-SITE is a great system, but the possibilities are truly unlimited with Passport. Cashiers love the unlimited macro keysthis replaces a key ring full of bar codes at our G-SITE locations. This benefit, along with the security functionality in Passport, has already considerably improved site operations, he said.
