NetSpend Expands Network Through 7-Eleven

Cardholders can reload cards at more than 6,000 outlets nationwide

DALLAS -- In a deal with 7-Eleven Inc., NetSpend Holdings Inc.--a provider of general-purpose reloadable (GPR) prepaid debit cards and related financial services to underbanked U.S. consumers--has announced that it has expanded its reload network to include more than 6,000 7-Eleven locations nationwide.

Austin, Texas-based NetSpend develops products and services that empower underbanked consumers with the convenience, security and freedom to be self-banked, it said.

"7-Eleven offers many convenient financial services for its customers, especially those who don't have or prefer not to use a traditional bank debit or credit card. This is just the beginning of our partnership with NetSpend, and we look forward to expanding our prepaid financial services program," said Rob Chumley, 7-Eleven merchandising vice president.

"This program offers our cardholders another convenient way to reload their card 24/7 at any of the more than 6,000 participating 7-Eleven locations in the U.S.," said Dan Henry,  CEO of NetSpend. "Convenience is very important to our customers, and we are very pleased to partner with one of the most recognized convenience store brands."

Based in Dallas, 7-Eleven operates, franchises or licenses approximately 8,900 7-Eleven convenience stores in North America. Globally, there are approximately 43,300 7-Eleven stores in 16 countries. During 2010, 7-Eleven stores worldwide generated total sales nearly $63 billion.
