Murphy USA, Catalina Marketing Announce Pilot

Checkout communication system test at 50 stations

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Catalina Marketing Corp., a provider of behavior-based marketing across multiple industries, said that it has signed an agreement with Murphy Oil USA Inc. to pilot the Catalina Marketing Network, the company's consumer checkout communication system, at multiple Murphy USA gas stations in Florida.

The pilot test will run at the checkout counters of approximately 50 Murphy USA stations located in mass merchandiser parking lots throughout Florida beginning in early 2006.

El Dorado, Ark.-based Murphy Oil operates more than 860 locations in 21 states.

St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Catalina Marketing Corp. offers a variety of behavior-based promotional messaging, loyalty programs and direct-to-patient information. Personally identifiable data that may be collected from the company's targeted marketing programs, as well as its research programs, are never sold or provided to any outside party without the express permission of the consumer.
