Home Depot C-Stores Using Dresser Wayne Platform

Features Ovation fuel dispenser with iX technology

AUSTIN, Texas -- Dresser Wayne announced the general availability of its Ovation fuel dispenser with the iX Technology Platform inside at NACSTech in Nashville, Tenn. Branded the Ovation iX, the product is already in operation at select retailers, including some locations of the Home Depot, and is now available for order industrywide, the company said.

Dresser Wayne's iX Technology Platform is built on the Microsoft Windows CE operating system and the Microsoft .NET Framework. The iX Technology Platform can perform demanding fuel dispenser activities [image-nocss] while offering additional features designed to help retailers drive sales, lower costs and improve accuracy and uptime, said the firm.

It currently offers three modules for the iX Technology Platform:

iX Media, which has an integrated, in-dispenser, 10.4-inch color display to allow retailers to show customized, full-motion video promotions. iX Media also features a built-in speaker and site-specific coupon creation capability. iSense remote management system, which can automatically diagnose, troubleshoot, and in some cases, actually fix equipment problemsoften even before they occur. iDPOS in-dispenser point-of-sale (POS) system guarantees uninterrupted fuel and merchandise sales by independently managing round-the-clock transactions and credit card saleseven if the in-store POS device is off line.

The iX Technology Platform's open architecture allows retailers to continue adding new Dresser Wayne modules as they become available or add customized modules without overhauling their entire systems. Also, because the iX Technology Platform incorporates TCP/IP networking and supports XML, it integrates with existing in-store POS systems and site management software.

The Home Depot was among the first customers to deploy the combined iX Technology Platform and Ovation fuel dispenser in its convenience store pilot project in Nashville.
