ALEXANDRIA, Minn. -- Convenience store, grocery and foodservice distributor Henry's Foods Inc., has deployed Verge Ignite, a custom iPad sales app powered by Verge Retail, to its team of sales representatives for use in c-stores across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and the Dakotas.
Verge Ignite's platform, designed exclusively for convenience store distributors and retailers--replaces Henry's Foods' laptop-based solution.
"The entre Verge team really understands the industry's challenges and as a result, has a product specifically catered to the c-store space," said Kellie Janssen, director of strategy and business development at Henry's Foods, Alexandria, Minn.
For Henry's Foods, Verge created a custom Plate Ordering module that allows reps to build plates, and adjust retail, portion size and GP on the fly. The custom foodservice modules join a set of features designed to improve sales presentations and processes, accelerate speed to market, reduce order errors and eliminate printing costs.
"We're thrilled to be in a position to step in and provide Henry's Foods with the mobile tools their reps need in order to keep an edge in an ever-increasingly competitive marketplace," said Carson Kuehne, Verge Retail chief innovations officer.
Verge Retail is the technology spinoff of Henderson, N.C.-based M.R. Williams Inc., a company with a 35-year history in retail and a leading c-store supplier on the East Coast. The company's technology is deployed across more than 2,200 retail outlets and used by tens of thousands of c-store retailers, distributors and consumers nationwide.
