Handee Marts Honors Franchisee of Year, More

Presents $6,500 BP Fueling Communities Grant to hospital foundation
PITTSBURGH -- At its annual meeting and trade show dinner, Handee Marts Inc. president and chief executive officer, Mike Triantafellou, awarded the Franchisee of the Year Award to Todd and Liz Umstott. He also awarded this year's President's Award to Handee Marts field consultant Marcia Foertsch and, for the first time to a vendor, Mike Cotherman of McLane Co., for their outstanding contributions towards "building value through partnerships."

At the same event, Triantafellou presented a grant check for $6,500 to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation.

Foundation [image-nocss] president Greg Barrett was in attendance and accepted the check on behalf of the foundation. The grant was funded by BP as part of its BP Fueling Communities Program.

Fueling Communities provides grants to local organizations that are nominated by BP-branded marketers to support the communities in which they do business. When BP announced the Fueling Communities Program, Handee Marts immediately nominated the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, specifically its Free Care Fund, which Handee Marts has been supporting over the years with contributions totaling close to $600,000.

Gibsonia, Pa.-based Handee Marts is a 40-year 7-Eleven licensee of 62 stores located in western Pennsylvania, northeast Ohio, and some counties in West Virginia and Maryland.
