Gulf Now 'At Home' with the Braves

New deal affirms brand's commitment to expansion beyond Northeast
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Gulf Oil LP has announced a multi-year sponsorship deal with the Atlanta Braves. The sponsorship will begin with opening day on April 5, 2010, as the Braves open the season against the Chicago Cubs. The cornerstone element of the agreement will provide rotational signage that will proudly display Gulf's "Sunrise" logo behind home plate for all home games at Turner Field.

"We want to provide tangible evidence to our new branded distributors and retail customers that Gulf is backand moreover, we are committed to staying long term in these new markets. [image-nocss] We believe that this high-profile presence in Atlanta clearly shows our determination to support the brand in new and important areas of the country," said Gulf Oil senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer Rick Dery. "Millions of loyal Braves fans from all over the country make the trip to Turner Field, which offers a great blend of the old-time baseball atmosphere with state-of-the-art family entertainment. These fans will now associate Gulf as a part of that experience."

Gulf Oil president and chief operating officer Ron Sabia added, "Gulf Oil's sponsorship of the Braves is another important element in establishing the brand's reputation as a premium nationwide gasoline retailer."

Gulf Oil, based in Framingham, Mass., is now a national branded supplier of motor fuels throughout the United States and its territories. Gulf remains one of the Northeast's largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products. Gulf Oil distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,000 branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals and a network of more than 70 other supply terminals. Gulf Oil supplies gasoline, heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene through its terminal network. Through its unbranded subsidiary, Great Island Energy, Gulf Oil also supplies petroleum products as well as risk management and financial services to industrial, commercial and independent retail firms.
