Giant Food Stores Reaches 100th Fuel Station Milestone

Newest location opens in Souderton, Pa., on Dec. 19

CARLISLE, Pa. -- Giant Food Stores has announced that it will open its 100th fuel station on December 19. The new fuel station is located in the parking lot of the Giant store in Souderton, Pa.

"Since we opened our first fuel station in 1998, Giant has been committed to offering customers the convenience of filling their grocery carts and gas tanks with one stop shopping," said Rick Herring, president of Giant. "Our customers' overwhelming response to this added convenience and their enthusiastic support of our Gas Extra Rewards program have helped us to achieve this 100th station milestone."

The company will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the grand opening. In celebration of the 100th Giant fuel station, it will hand out free coffee coupons to all gas customers between 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and serve cake from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The fuel station will have 12 pumps, each with a pay-at-the-pump feature. It will also offer gasoline mitts and waterless hand soap to keep hands clean, in addition to free air.

In addition, for every $100 spent on grocery and pharmacy out-of-pocket expenses at any Giant using a Bonuscard, customers will receive 10 cents off per gallon of gasoline when they fill up as part of the Gas Extra Rewards program. They can earn and redeem points now through January 19. Customers can purchase and redeem Giant gift cards at fuel sites including the new Souderton fuel station.
