Eastern Petroleum Implements TelaFuel

Web supply chain solution will help retailer-wholesaler manage multi-branded fuel replenishment

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Eastern Petroleum Corp. has implemented Louisville, Ky.-based Internet supply chain software provider TelaPoint Inc.'s TelaFuel solution to streamline and manage its fuel replenishment process.

The operator is using TelaFuel, a browser-based application suite, to improve management of fuel replenishment operations across all of its company owned convenience stores and wholesale petroleum operations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

With TelaFuel, Eastern Petroleum is electronically processing fuel replenishment [image-nocss] orders and optimizing the scheduling of its transportation fleet to better manage petroleum inventories and supply logistics, resulting in lower costs and greater administrative efficiency.

Our decision to implement TelaPoint's Internet supply chain solution is a key part of our strategy to better use technology to improve internal operations and to serve the needs of our retail and wholesale customers, said Tim Winter, vice president of operations for Eastern Petroleum. TelaFuel is helping us streamline our fuel forecasting and transportation dispatch operations by making the process more efficient.

TelaFuel includes Smart Replenishment, Smart Buying and Smart Invoicing. It helps companies realize fewer communication errors with transportation partners, lower fuel inventory and replenishment costs, make better fuel purchasing and pricing decisions and streamline fuel invoice reconciliation, the company said. All TelaPoint customers have secure access through browser-based software applications allowing for timely and accurate communication with their authorized trading partners.
