Alon USA Gives $100,000 to Dallas Red Cross

Funds had been earmarked for arts dedication

DALLAS -- Alon USA has announced a $100,000 gift to the Dallas Area American Red Cross to help provide relief for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

In response to the devastation and the thousands of families affected by the tragedy, after consulting with the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, Alon USA, an underwriter, decided to dedicatefundsset aside for a pre-groundbreaking receptionon November 10 that would have been hosted by Alonto the Dallas Area American Red Cross to provide shelter, food and other necessities for families displaced by the [image-nocss] storm.

The men and women of Alon USA understand the importance of providing humanitarian relief to victims of Hurricane Katrina.Our heart is torn for every family who has suffered. We also understand the importance of supporting cultural projects of the significance of the campaign to build the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts.Thus, we are proud to support the efforts of the Dallas Area Red Cross and to support the campaign to build the Center, said David Wiessman, executive chairman of Alon USA.

The Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Foundation and its board of directors, staff and many volunteers are very grateful for Alon USA's generous gift to help build the Center and its meaningful support of families victimized by Hurricane Katrina.
