Kwik Trip Recalls Parfaits

Kitchen Cravings items may contain undeclared traces of peanuts

LA CROSSE, Wis. --Kwik Trip Inc. is recalling Kitchen Cravings Strawberry and Mixed Berry Parfaits in an 8.25-ounce cup because they may contain undeclared traces of peanuts.

On July 21, the convenience-store retailer became aware of the situation and has removed all Kitchen Cravings Strawberry and Mixed Berry Parfaits from its retail locations because of the undeclared allergen.

The company initiated the recall after it discovered traces of peanuts in granola mix from an outside supplier.

Kwik Trip has corrected the problem, and no adverse reactions have been reported, it said.

The Kitchen Cravings Strawberry Parfait is an 8.25-ounce cup, UPC CODE 3977918435. The Kitchen Cravings Mixed Berry Parfait is an 8.25-ounce cup, UPC CODE 3977918436. The chain sold both products at its 491 Kwik Trip and Kwik Star convenience stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa with a sell-by date on or before July 31, 2016.

La Crosse, Wis.-based Kwik Trip is urging consumers who are allergic to peanuts and have purchased the parfait cups on or before July 21 to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
