Kinder Bueno revealed that Connecticut is the next destination for its annual Summer Gets Bueno program, where the candy brand takes over convenience stores and offers giveaways.

Kinder Bueno, a Ferrero brand, is taking over the Mobil-branded forecourt pumps and Smart Foods convenience store at 211 Post Road in Darien, Connecticut. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT on June 29 and 30. Consumers can receive a white glove gas-pumping experience, a gift card with up to $25 worth of free gas (while supplies last), free Kinder Bueno and limited-edition Kinder Bueno White Chocolate bars and other fun road trip necessities.

Kinder Bueno is a chocolate bar that comes with a hazelnut filling in a wafer, covered in milk chocolate and a dark chocolate drizzle. The limited-edition Kinder Bueno White Chocolate contains real white chocolate, hazelnut filling, wafer and cocoa bits.

“According to a survey by the National Confectioners Association, 94% of people headed on a road trip this summer will bring chocolate and candy with them,” said Shalini Stansberry, vice president of marketing at Kinder Snacking. “We also know that rising airline costs mean more travelers are choosing road trips over flying this summer. Back by popular demand, the ‘Summer Gets Bueno’ program gives travelers a special trip experience that they can savor, thanks to crispy, creamy Kinder Bueno chocolate.”

Travelers can also receive $1 off their purchase of a pack of Kinder Bueno or Kinder Bueno White Chocolate bars during both days at six other Exxon and Shell locations in Connecticut, including:

  • 464 N. Main St., Danbury, Connecticut
  • 419 Main St., Danbury, Connecticut
  • 818 Federal Road, Brookfield, Connecticut
  • 831 S. Main St., Cheshire, Connecticut
  • 460 Oakland St., Manchester, Connecticut
  • 263 Roosevelt Drive, Derby, Connecticut

Ferrero USA is based in Parsippany, New Jersey, and was founded in Alba, Italy, in 1946. It entered the U.S. market in 1969.
