Hi-Chew Releases New Flavor at 7-Eleven

Tropical fruit-flavored chewy candies will roll out to other retailers in April

IRVINE, Calif. — Hi-Chew’s latest innovation features candies with two layers of tropical fruit flavors.

Hi-Chew Fruit Combos Mix comes in Tropical Smoothie and Pina Colada and is available exclusively in 7-Eleven convenience stores nationwide until April 28, when it rolls out to additional retailers.

Tropical Smoothie flavor has an outer layer of passion fruit flavor combined with a mango layer inside. The Pina Colada flavor is made with a pineapple flavor surrounded by a creamy coconut layer.

The candies come in a 3-ounce peg bag for a suggested retail price of $2.59.

Hi-Chew is a Morinaga America Inc., Irvine, Calif., brand. The chewy candy comes in more than 185 flavors and had its debut in Japan. Since its introduction in the U.S. market in 2008, Hi-Chew has experienced year-over-year double-digit growth, according to the company.

7-Eleven, Irving, Texas, has about 9,200 c-stores in the United States.
