General Mills Names GM

Gallagher appointed general manager of c-store channel

MINNEAPOLIS -- General Mills said that it has appointed Sheila Gallagher to the position of general manager of convenience channels. In her new role, Gallagher is responsible for General Mills' business in key segments including convenience stores, vending, and nonfood retailers, in addition to the company's restaurant accounts business segment.

Prior to her newly appointed role, Gallagher held the position of senior director of restaurant accounts in the company's bakeries and foodservice division.

Gallagher joined General Mills in 1987 as a sales representative in the Pacific Northwest [image-nocss] and has held various sales, marketing and finance positions of increasing responsibility since that time.

General Mills Foodservice sells a variety of products to operators in the foodservice, convenience and restaurant channels, with branded products including Cheerios cereal, Yoplait yogurt, Nature Valley granola bars, Gold Medal baking mixes, Pillsbury biscuits and other sweet goods. The division generates more than $1.8 billion in annual sales.

Minneapolis-based General Mills operates in more than 100 countries and markets more than 100 consumer brands, including Cheerios, Häagen-Dazs, Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Old El Paso, Progresso, Cascadian Farm, Muir Glen, and more. Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A., General Mills had fiscal 2008 global net sales of $14.9 billion, including the company's $1.2 billion proportionate share of joint venture net sales.
