Dunkin' Donuts Coming to Lansing, N.Y., Xtra Mart

"Al the Ice Gorilla" to join hockey icon Barry Melrose for grand opening event
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- American Hockey League team the Syracuse Crunch said that its mascot, Al the Ice Gorilla, will be in attendance at the grand opening of a new Dunkin' Donuts location in Lansing, N.Y., located inside a 4,000-square-foot Xtra Mart convenience store, on June 26 along with hockey icon and current ESPN hockey analyst Barry Melrose.

Employing 15 crew members and shop managers, the new restaurant will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will offer travelers convenience and ease with drive-thru service in addition to accommodating seating indoors.

The [image-nocss] Lansing store will be managed by the CNY Foodservice Group LLC, an independently owned and operated franchise network of the Dunkin' Brands system and a division of the Wolak Group.

The store franchisees are Ed Wolak, Roy Clark and Tom Santurri.

Al and Melrose will be on hand at the new Dunkin' Donuts to meet and greet fans, take pictures and sign autographs. In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to win a number of giveaways and prizes, courtesy of Dunkin' Donuts.

Dunkin' Donuts offers regular/decaf coffee, iced coffee, hot flavored coffee, and donut, bagel and muffin categories. It has more than 8,800 restaurants in 31 countries worldwide. In 2008, Dunkin' Donuts' global system-wide sales were $5.5 billion. Based in Canton, Mass., Dunkin' Donuts is a subsidiary of Dunkin' Brands.

North Grosvenordale, Conn.-based Xtra Mart has 150 locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
