CHICAGO — Innovation is what continues to propel nonchocolate candy forward, and the movement to create something bursting with flavor, often literally, is all the rage.

Chicago-based Trolli, a Ferrara brand, recently unveiled its new gummy worm treat—Sour Bursting Crawlers.
The gummies feature an outer layer similar to the brand’s classic Sour Brite Crawlers but have a gooey center. The four flavor combinations include Cherry-Pineapple, Blue Raspberry-Strawberry, Strawberry-Grape and Mango-Fruit Punch.
The candy is now available in 3-ounce, 4.25-ounce and 6.3-ounce bags.
Hilco, based in Louisville, Ky., partnered with Chicago-based Kraft Heinz and Littleton, Colo.-based Warheads to create a new popping candy.
The line features three packs and single packs of Kool-Aid and Warheads popping candy. The Kool-Aid candy comes in Tropical Punch, Grape and Cherry and the Warheads candy is available in Green Apple, Blue Raspberry and Watermelon.
The three-pack candies come in 0.24-ounce pouches and 48-count master cases that feature four 12-count displays. Each pouch has a suggested retail price of $1.99.
The 0.33-ounce single pack candies have an 80-count master case that contains four 20-count displays and have a suggested retail price of $0.99.
New York-based Bazooka Companies Inc. unveiled a new Tropical Rainbow edition of its Push Pop Gummy Roll. It features a rainbow of six flavors: apple, raspberry, lemon, orange, cherry and watermelon.
The candy comes in a push out, tear off designed dispenser.
In addition to the Tropical Rainbow flavor, the Push Pop Gummy Roll comes in Strawberry, Watermelon and Blue Raspberry.
Chupa Chups, a Parfetti Van Melle brand based in Erlanger, Ky., plans to release its new XXL Trio Lollipop in November 2022.
The lollipop has two flavors surrounding a bubble gum interior. Chupa Chups aims to fulfill the multi-flavor, multi-sensory trend in nonchocolate, according to the company. The 1-ounce lollipop comes in four flavor combinations: Cola Lemon, Strawberry Kiwi, Mango Orange and Tutti Frutti Pineapple.
The Chupa Chups XXL Trio Lollipops will be available in a showbox with 48 lollipops, and each unit has a suggested retail price range of 59 cents-69 cents.
“Consumers are looking for added benefit to their lollipop experience, and with the XXL Trio lollipops, Chupa Chups will continue to bring well-received variety, excitement and a premium feel to the fast-growing lollipop segment in the U.S.,” said Craig Cuchra, vice president of marketing at Perfetti Van Melle.
