Wilson Farms in PaySpot Deal

Retailer enhances prepaid offering

LEAWOOD, Kansas -- U.S. prepaid provider PaySpot Inc. and convenience store chain Wilson Farms Inc. recently signed a multi-year agreement under which PaySpot will provide electronic prepaid products, including prepaid wireless, gift cards, debit cards and handsets to Wilson Farms' 198 locations in the Buffalo, N.Y., area.

Considering the size and popularity of Wilson Farms in their market, their previous prepaid offeringwhich consisted only of wireless and some long distancewasn't sufficient to adequately service their customers or to generate the profits [image-nocss] needed to justify keeping prepaid in their stores, the companies said.

Wilson Farms decided that it either needed to improve its prepaid category or dump prepaid altogetherand the latter was not an option.

In addition to prepaid wireless and long distance, which are the staple of PaySpot's prepaid offering, Wilson Farms will also sell prepaid debit cards, prepaid gift cardsboth gift card mall and Wilson Farms' proprietary gift cardas well as mobile content and AirLink handsets.

PaySpot's product offering currently includes prepaid mobile airtime for more than 35 different wireless carriers, a variety of long-distance products, mall gift cards, prepaid debit cards, money transfer, bill payment, check guarantee, merchant processing, age verification, prepaid wireless handsets and prepaid mobile content. It also provides merchandising, information technology (IT) resources and account management support.

ThePaySpotsystem supports online electronic top-up at retail locations via a range of point-of-sale (POS) terminals or through integrated electronic cash registers for retailers with multiple locations and multiple checkout points.

Wilson Farms, Buffalo, currently owns and operates 198 Wilson Farms, Sugarcreek and Wilson Farms Xpress c-store and gas station locations across New York State.
