Shell Sells in Frisco Bay

SC Fuels expands branded business with 28-station acquisition

ORANGE, Calif. -- SC Fuels, through its Southern Counties Oil Co., has acquired approximately 28 Shell-branded retail locations in the San Francisco Bay area and has made separate offers on an additional 28 individual locations operated by retailers that are subject to the retailers' rights of first refusal under California law.

This deal includes the right to supply six Shell-branded retail locations owned by independent dealers. All sites will continue to operate under the Shell brand and will continue to sell Shell-branded fuels.

In 2005, Shell Oil Products [image-nocss] US announced its strategy and has been moving forward with it to transition markets from a direct-delivered fuel model to a wholesale-delivered model. The changes are transparent to consumers and services are not interrupted.

"This acquisition fits well with our strategic plan to grow and expand our branded wholesale business. We are excited about completing this deal with Shell. We see this as a great opportunity to provide best-in-class service to these dealers in the Bay Area and to further enhance the Shell brand," said Frank Greinke, owner and CEO of Orange, Calif.-based SC Fuels.
