Certified Oil Appoints James as Director of Logistics

Will source best petroleum for network of 140 locations
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Certified Oil Co. has named Darrell James as the new director of logistics. James will head the logistics department and will lead all logistics efforts for the company. His main responsibility will be sourcing the best petroleum in terms of quality and cost for delivery to Certified and its 140 company operated and dealer locations across Ohio.

He will also work directly with oil company representatives and outside carriers that the Columbus, Ohio-based company has business alliances with to ensure effective partnerships and dealings.

James will [image-nocss] report directly to the company's COO, Greg Ehrlich. As part of his management role, James will also oversee a staff comprised of 20 Certified employees and associates.

"Darrell brings a wealth of experience and proven leadership to Certified Oil," said Ehrlich. "With his more than three decades of industry experience, he has developed strong business acumen in logistics strategy and tactical management. He will be a key member of our team as we continue to grow and update our company in Ohio and throughout the Midwest."

James has 35 years of experience in ground transportation. Most recently, he worked at Sidney Transportation Services. Prior to that position, he worked for 12 years and was vice president of operations for The Connection Co., a Columbus-based regional carrier. He has also worked at Roadway Express Inc. and The Wal-Mart Private Fleet.

Founded by Carlyle Baker in Piqua, Ohio in 1939, Certified Oil is one of Ohio's leading independent operators of convenience stores and retail fueling facilities. It operates or supplies more than 140 locations in Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Certified maintains its own proprietary Certified fuel brand and distributes fuels for Sunoco, Marathon, Valero and Clark.
