CHICAGO — French toast is a classic breakfast item but not particularly convenience-store friendly.
Consider solving that problem by selling portable, tasty French toast sticks. Cut the French toast into sticks, add a crisp coasting and serve the syrup as a dip, suggests CSP sister publication Restaurant Business.
This item was introduced by Burger King in 1986, and others who have followed include Jack in the Box, McDonald’s, Roy Rogers and Sonic. And Wendy’s recently launched Homestyle French Toast Sticks.
