TORONTO Tim Hortons restaurant owners each year demonstrate their dedication to supporting their communities through the annual weeklong Smile Cookie campaign, going on now through Sept. 19.

During those seven days, 100% of the sale of each chocolate chunk cookie, which is topped with pink and blue icing drawing out a smile, is donated to local charities.

Last year, a record $245,000 was raised to support more than 27 charities and hospitals nationwide. This year the campaign celebrates its 25th year.

“We’re honored to serve our local communities for the 25th year in a row,” said Ricardo Azevedo, president of Tim Hortons North America. “Every year, it’s so inspiring to see Tim Hortons guests and restaurant owners rally together to give back to their neighbors.”

To participate in this year’s Smile Cookie campaign, customers can visit a Tim Hortons restaurant or place a digital order through the Tim Hortons app or website. The Smile Cookie sells for $1, excluding taxes.
