ALTOONA, Pa., and BALTIMORE — Convenience-store retailer Sheetz has teamed with Goetze’s Candy Co. to launch a series of Cow Tales flavor-inspired seasonal milkshakes at the convenience-store chain.

The first two limited-edition milkshake collaborations are out now at all 649 Sheetz locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina: Caramel and Cream Milkshake with Cow Tales Flavors and Strawberry Cream Milkshake with Cow Tales Flavors.

“Collaborating with another beloved family-owned operation is the perfect partnership for Goetze's,” said Mitchell Goetze, CEO of Goetze’s Candy Co., a Baltimore-based manufacturer of caramel products for 127 years. “The opportunity to combine two highly respected brands, bringing together multiple generations of customers, is a treat for everyone. Not to mention, the milkshakes are delicious.”

  • Sheetz is No. 13 on CSP’s 2022 Top 40 Update to the 2021 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by store count. Watch for the full 2022 Top 202 ranking in the June issue of CSP magazine and in CSP Daily News.

As the seasons change, so will the Cow Tales flavors swirled into these creamy milkshakes. Caramel Apple Cow Tales will replace Strawberry Cream for autumn, and Caramel Brownie Cow Tales Flavors will ring in the 2023 new year. Original Caramel and Cream will remain on Sheetz’s milkshake menu throughout the duration of the partnership.

“Our Caramel and Cream milkshake will feature the savory and nostalgic flavor of Goetze’s caramel and cream, while our Strawberry Cream Milkshake will have customers wishing it was already summer,” said Ryan Sheetz, vice president of marketing and brand for Sheetz, Altoona, Pa. “Partnering with a legendary brand like Goetze’s was a no-brainer for us, and we can’t wait for our customers to begin enjoying these sweet treats all year long."

The milkshakes are available for purchase at the made-to-order kiosk at Sheetz stores or through the Sheetz app. Patrons will receive a Cow Tales Mini with each milkshake purchase, while supplies last.

Goetze's Candy is a sixth-generation family-owned company founded in 1895. Since the 1940s, its staple product has been Caramel Creams. In 1984, Goetze’s Candy introduced Cow Tales, an elongated version of Caramel Creams.
