IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven is offering free refills for a year if customers purchase a limited-edition, reusable cup on Dec. 11.

The stainless steel cups, which are manufactured by the Tervis Tumbler Co., are available on 7-Eleven’s website for a suggested retail price of $129. They come in three varieties: 20-ounce Slurpee cups, 30-ounce Big Gulp cups and 20-ounce coffee cups, all of which are branded with a unique design and arrive in a gift box.

Customers must purchase the cups Dec. 11 to receive the benefits, which will be available from Jan. 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020.

"This a first for 7-Eleven,” said Rebecca Troutman, director of e-commerce for 7-Eleven. “These limited-edition stainless steel, vacuum-insulated cups are a cut above our standard everyday cups and are designed to be collector's items. All of our 7-Eleven beverages have enthusiastic fans who are regulars at our stores—some daily or even several times a day. This is taking limited-edition to the extreme. Only 50 of each design will be sold on our website through the Shop Online button. Once they're gone, they're gone."

Consumers are limited to one cup per order. The coffee cups can also be used for hot beverages such as hot chocolate and lattes, while the Big Gulp cup can be filled with any soft drink or iced tea. 7-Eleven employees will scan the barcode printed on the cup during checkout, which will ring up the beverage as free.

Irving, Texas-based 7-Eleven Inc. operates, franchises or licenses more than 66,000 stores in 17 countries, including about 9,100 in the United States. The chain ranked No. 1 on CSP’s 2019 Top 202 ranking of c-store chains by total number of company-owned retail units.
