Health care is frequently likened to a maze, with its twists and turns frustrating even the most seasoned medical navigators. Some c-store operators choose to negotiate that maze despite soaring costs in order to compete for qualified employees. Others simply don’t have a choice, depending on which state they are in. Massachusetts, Vermont and Hawaii currently have employer mandates, with other states also examining such measures.
